The outlet also said Titmus had not spoken publicly about the relationship, so its report should not be treated as a public confirmation from her. The available sources establish what was reported during the Tokyo Olympics—not whether the relationship continued afterward.
Who is Kyle Niesler?
In its 30 July 2021 report, PerthNow named Kyle Niesler as Titmus’s partner and described him as a fellow swimmer. The outlet reported that Niesler was a junior Queensland champion and a former Griffith University student.
PerthNow also said Niesler had competed at the Australian Olympic Swimming Trials but did not qualify for Tokyo in the men’s 200-metre individual medley. These details are from the outlet’s 2021 account.
What was reported—and what Titmus said publicly
PerthNow’s article identified Niesler as Titmus’s partner, while noting that Titmus had not spoken publicly about the relationship. The report therefore documents what the outlet said at the time, not a relationship announcement or on-the-record confirmation by Titmus. It also does not establish a verified relationship start date or duration.

Why the story drew attention during Tokyo 2020
Titmus was in the spotlight at the Games for her swimming. The Australian Olympic Committee’s athlete profile records her participation at Tokyo 2020 and two individual freestyle gold medals. That sporting achievement provides the context for the attention around her in 2021; it does not add evidence about her private life.
For career background, World Aquatics published a profile of Titmus on 3 July 2020, describing her career and preparation for Tokyo. It is a pre-Games sports profile, not a source for the relationship claim.

No. PerthNow’s report is dated 30 July 2021, and the sources cited here do not establish whether the relationship continued after that date. It is accurate to say PerthNow named Niesler as Titmus’s partner in 2021; it is not supported to present him as her current boyfriend.
