There is no reliable confirmation in the sources reviewed that Tom Brady had plastic surgery or a hair transplant. The rumors circulated amid discussion of his appearance after Netflix’s live roast, where comedians made jokes about his looks. Those jokes document what was said onstage—not whether any procedure took place.
What sparked the rumors?
Netflix scheduled The Roast of Tom Brady as a live, unedited event at Los Angeles’s Kia Forum on May 5, 2024, with Kevin Hart as host. Netflix’s event listing confirms the format and date.

The Associated Press described a three-hour event featuring comedians, former teammates and others. Before the roast, Brady likened the experience to a football game and said, “This is what a locker room has been like for me for all these years. So it’s not like I’m used to people not making fun of me.” The AP report gives the context for his remark.
The Washington Post noted that the jokes included remarks about Brady’s looks, as well as his NFL career and personal life. That coverage establishes that appearance was a subject of comedy. It does not establish that the jokes described real medical or cosmetic procedures.

What is confirmed—and what is not?
The reviewed sources do not provide reliable confirmation from Brady, a treating clinician, an official record or a well-sourced report that he underwent plastic surgery or a hair transplant. They establish that people joked about his appearance, not that he had either procedure.
Rumors about plastic surgery and a hair transplant circulated around discussion of Brady’s appearance, but the sources reviewed do not verify that he had either procedure. That is a limit on what these sources establish, not proof that no procedure occurred. Photographs, hairstyle changes, lighting and comedians’ jokes cannot, on their own, establish a person’s medical history.

What Brady said after the roast
Brady later spoke about enjoying jokes directed at him while disliking their effect on his children. On The Pivot, he said, “I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way it affected my kids.” ABC News reported the comments on May 15, 2024. Read ABC News’s report.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on June 12, 2024, he said, “The hardest part for me was my kids having to hear some tough things and, you know, hopefully we all learn from the experience.” He also said he would not do the roast again because of its effect on the people he cared about most. Entertainment Tonight reported the interview.
