Alex is a minor recurring character in This Is Us, played by Presley Alexander. IMDb’s cast listing credits Alexander as Alex in two episodes dated 2020–2021. The available credit does not establish “Hanan” as Alex’s surname in the show, so the character is best identified simply as Alex.
Alex’s place in This Is Us
This Is Us follows Jack and Rebecca Pearson and their children Kevin, Kate and Randall across flashbacks, present-day storylines and flash-forwards. Netflix Tudum’s official series guide does not include Alex among the central Pearson family or its selected principal cast. That context matters: the show’s shifting timelines allow brief supporting characters to appear without becoming major members of the ensemble.

Netflix Tudum identifies Eris Baker as Tess Pearson, but does not name Alex. The omission supports treating Alex as a small role, not as a principal cast member. Netflix Tudum’s series guide provides the official family and cast context.
Who played Alex?
Presley Alexander is credited as Alex in IMDb’s This Is Us full-cast listing. That database records two episodes in the 2020–2021 period. The listing is a secondary credit source rather than an official production cast record, and it does not by itself provide a detailed biography, storyline or episode-by-episode explanation.

Was Alex connected to Tess Pearson?
A fan-maintained This Is Us Wiki character index includes a “Tess-Alex (relationship)” entry, linking the two characters. Because the detailed page was not available and the index is not an official NBC or Netflix source, the evidence supports only saying that the characters are associated there—not specifying the exact nature or history of their relationship.

The index is available at This Is Us Wiki’s character category.
What does “Alex Hanan” mean?
The retrieved screen-credit evidence supports the character name Alex and Presley Alexander’s performance. It does not establish Hanan as Alex’s in-show surname. “Alex Hanan” should therefore be treated as an unverified phrasing rather than a confirmed full character name.
Rank #3
How important was Alex?
Alex was not presented in the available sources as a major character or prominent cast member. The most supportable description is a brief recurring role that appears in two database-listed episodes during the 2020–2021 period, within a series whose later timelines contain many secondary characters.
