Brie Larson voices Rosalina, and Benny Safdie voices Bowser Jr. Nintendo and Illumination announced both roles on November 12, 2025, alongside the film’s official trailer.
Who voices Rosalina and Bowser Jr.?
Brie Larson is Rosalina, and Benny Safdie is Bowser Jr. The two casting assignments appeared together in Nintendo and Illumination’s November 12, 2025 announcement. Nintendo’s later cast announcement and its current official film page list the same actors in those roles.
What roles do the characters have in the film?
Nintendo’s film synopsis says Peach’s birthday party sets off a galactic adventure. Mario and Luigi must stop Bowser Jr.’s ambitions and save Rosalina. Larson’s and Safdie’s characters are therefore part of the central conflict, not merely names in the ensemble cast.
Who else is in the cast?
Nintendo’s expanded cast announcement lists Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, and Luis Guzmán as Wart, alongside Larson and Safdie.

When was the movie released?
Nintendo’s announcements gave different dates as the release approached. The November 2025 announcement named April 3, 2026 for the United States and many additional markets; the March 2026 final-trailer announcement moved that date to April 1. Nintendo’s May 2026 investor presentation subsequently reported that the global release began April 1, 2026, while Japan’s premiere was April 24. Those are Nintendo’s reported dates and do not establish that every territory had the same opening day. The official film page used here is Nintendo’s Philippines page, so check local distributor or cinema listings for a specific country.
