Who is the voice-over in Bad Monkey?
Tom Nowicki is the narrator throughout the first season. In the HOLR Magazine interview, he says, “And I am the narrator of the series.” The interview describes Captain Keith Fitzpatrick as narrating all ten episodes.

Who plays the captain narrator?
Nowicki plays Captain Keith Fitzpatrick, a charter captain who appears on screen as well as narrating the story. That makes the voice-over part of the show’s cast of characters, rather than a separate, unidentified storyteller.
Why does Bad Monkey use this kind of narration?
The narration’s function can be understood in more than one way. A New York Magazine/Vulture review describes it as omniscient narration that carries Carl Hiaasen’s distinctive voice into the adaptation and adds comic observations about the characters. That is the critic’s interpretation, not a confirmed statement of the creators’ intent.

Creator Bill Lawrence has also been reported as explaining that the production cast Nowicki as the fisherman and that his gravelly voice reminded the team of The Big Lebowski. This reported casting anecdote offers context for how the voice fit the role, but it does not change the basic identification: Nowicki is both the captain and the narrator.
Is Tom Nowicki returning to narrate season 2?
Apple announced that season two is scheduled to premiere on December 2, 2026, as an all-new original story. Its announcement names returning stars and new cast members but does not name Nowicki, so it does not confirm whether he will return as narrator. The series is based on Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel Bad Monkey, according to Apple TV Press. Apple’s series page lists season one and says the series is streaming on Apple TV.
