Xavier Trudeau has begun releasing music under the name Xav. His debut single, “Til The Nights Done,” was reported on February 21, 2025, as an R&B- and hip-hop-themed release. March coverage described his early music as somber, ambient R&B and discussed influences including Drake and Don Toliver. This is an emerging music project, not evidence of a long-established career or a political succession.
What is Xavier Trudeau’s music career?
Public reporting identified Xavier Trudeau as a musician performing as Xav. On February 21, 2025, CityNews Montreal reported that he had released his debut single, “Til The Nights Done,” and described it as R&B and hip-hop themed. The story also reported that he was signed to Ottawa-based Pathway Music Group at that time; it does not establish his current contract status. CityNews Montreal’s February 21, 2025 report said the track was available on Apple Music and Spotify.

The word “dynasty” in the headline is a hook, not a documented description of Xav’s career. The available coverage establishes an early music project, but not a lengthy discography, commercial success, or a political trajectory.
What does Xav’s early music sound like?
The descriptions differ slightly by report. CityNews characterized the debut as R&B and hip-hop themed, while SHIFTER Magazine’s March 21, 2025 interview introduced his music as somber, ambient R&B. These are descriptions of early releases, not a definitive genre label for his work as a whole. SHIFTER’s interview also covered his new music and influences.

Which artists has Xav named as influences?
In the March 2025 SHIFTER interview, Drake and Don Toliver were identified as influences. That is evidence of reported musical inspiration, not a collaboration with either artist.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is known—and not known—about his releases?
The dated reports establish a February 2025 debut and refer to subsequent music discussed in March. They do not provide an authoritative, complete, current catalog. It would therefore be premature to identify a latest release or make claims about streaming totals, chart performance, sales, or career length.

A Canadian Press report republished by QUB includes Xavier’s statement, “J’ai toujours adoré la musique, que ce soit la composer ou l’écouter” (“I have always loved music, whether composing it or listening to it”). QUB’s Canadian Press report is the source for that interview excerpt.
