The nearly three-minute performance drew sharply divided online reactions, while speculation that its processed-sounding vocals were made with artificial intelligence remained unverified.
What happens in the video?
Basher performs a country-style song from the Cybertruck’s cargo bed. The lyrics praise Musk and his businesses, turning the vehicle into the setting and visual centerpiece of the performance. Futurism described the clip in a March 25, 2025 report by senior editor Victor Tangermann.

The report presents the video as an internet spectacle rather than as a formal music release or an advertisement. It does not establish how widely the clip was viewed beyond the reactions cited in the story.
Who is Alessandra Basher?
Alessandra Basher is the performer shown in the clip. According to Futurism, her husband, Cern Basher, had publicly expressed enthusiasm for Tesla, and Basher had discussed Musk retweeting her during the preceding week. Those details are part of the report’s context and are not independently established here.

Why did people call it “cringe”?
The performance combines conspicuous praise of a highly polarizing public figure with an intentionally exuberant presentation inside a Cybertruck. That combination prompted ridicule and discomfort from some viewers. The report recounts critical comments on Reddit and X, including one commenter who identified as a Musk fan but still described the video as creepy.
Other reactions on Musk’s social platform were favorable. These examples show the range of responses described by the article, but they are selected comments rather than a poll or a systematic measure of public opinion.

What did Basher say about the criticism?
In a post responding to criticism, Basher explained her intent: “I’m just having fun creating and performing a song to say thanks for what he did and is doing for this country and the world.” The statement frames the clip as a personal expression of gratitude and amusement, not as an attempt to present neutral commentary about Musk.
The report also quotes Basher telling “Tesla haters” that she was “not trying to have a baby with Elon,” an irreverent response to the tone of some of the criticism.

Was the song or video made with AI?
Viewers speculated that the vocals or lyrics sounded AI-generated because the singing appeared heavily processed. Futurism did not verify that generative artificial intelligence was used for the lyrics, vocals, music, editing, or performance.
Accordingly, the responsible description is that the audio prompted AI speculation—not that the video was AI-generated. A processed vocal effect, studio manipulation, or another production technique could also produce an artificial-sounding result.

The bottom line
The Cybertruck country video is best understood as a deliberately enthusiastic fan performance that became news because of its unusual setting, its praise of Musk, and the intense responses it provoked.
