Marcel Gerard: a Season 4 claim about the world’s most powerful vampire
Previewing Season 4, The Originals executive producer Michael Narducci described Klaus as being held by a vampire “who is perhaps the most powerful vampire in the world — that’s Marcel.” The wording makes Marcel a strong answer, but it is Narducci’s description of the Season 4 setup—not a measured, franchise-wide ranking of every character and form. Lucien Castle: Original-level powers plus lethal venom
A serum gives Lucien the powers of an Original vampire, with lethal werewolf venom as an added threat, according to Narducci’s account reported by TV Guide. That makes Lucien a credible candidate to overpower Elijah: he has Original-level abilities and a dangerous advantage beyond those powers. The cited passage, however, does not document a direct fight between Lucien and Elijah or establish its outcome.

How the comparison depends on form and timeline
“Stronger” can mean greater physical power, a more dangerous weapon, or a better chance of winning a particular fight. An ordinary Original-versus-upgraded-Original comparison is not the same as comparing characters in every later story state. A useful matchup should specify each character’s form, the source of any added power, and the season being considered.
The Mikaelsons are characterized broadly as “The Originals’ most powerful vampire family” in a TV Insider interview with Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies. That is a family-level description, not a ranking that proves Elijah is stronger than, or weaker than, every individual vampire.

Later events also change the context. The CW’s final-season synopsis says the season begins seven years after Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol divide the Hollow’s dark energy and leave New Orleans to protect the city and Hope. This establishes a distinct late-series timeline, but it does not settle Hope’s strength relative to Elijah.

Marcel is the clearest answer when the question is read through Narducci’s Season 4 description of him as perhaps the world’s most powerful vampire. Lucien is also a credible answer because his serum is associated with Original powers and lethal venom. These statements support treating both upgraded characters as stronger-than-Elijah candidates, but they do not supply a complete record of direct matchups.

The cited reporting does not rank Marcel against Lucien, and it does not provide a definitive Lucien-versus-Elijah result. Narducci’s comments about Elijah in a Season 4 finale interview offer characterization context rather than a strength measurement.
