Who is Savannah Chrisley’s ex-boyfriend Robert Shiver? He is a former Auburn University football player from Thomasville, Georgia, listed as a 6-foot-3, 222-pound senior deep snapper in 2008. Chrisley confirmed their relationship in September 2023, and 2025 reports said they later broke up.
Shiver drew national attention for two connected reasons: his relationship with Chrisley and the allegations involving his estranged wife, Lindsay Shiver. Lindsay Shiver and two other people were arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023 after prosecutors alleged a plan to kill Robert. That remains an allegation in the sources reviewed, not an adjudicated fact.

The same Auburn record lists his height as 6 feet 3 inches and his weight as 222 pounds.
#1 Best Overall
The Auburn archive also records Shiver as a freshman deep snapper in 2006 and a sophomore deep snapper in 2007. Those records establish college football participation, but the available evidence does not establish that Shiver played in the NFL or had a professional football career. Calling him an “NFL star” would go beyond the documented record.

How did Robert Shiver become connected to Savannah Chrisley?
Savannah Chrisley publicly confirmed that she was dating Robert Shiver during a September 2023 appearance on The Viall Files, according to a report by WSB-TV. The report also said the couple had been photographed together at Los Angeles International Airport and identified Shiver as a former Auburn football player.
Chrisley made the relationship public while news coverage was already focused on the allegations involving Shiver’s estranged wife. In a colorful remark reported by WSB-TV, Chrisley said, “He’s too hot to die.” The comment was a joke-like response to the unusual circumstances surrounding the story; it was not evidence about the criminal allegations.
WSB-TV’s September 2023 report covered Chrisley’s confirmation and the public circumstances that brought Shiver into entertainment-news coverage.
What was the alleged murder plot involving Robert Shiver?
The story became nationally known because Lindsay Shiver, described in contemporaneous reports as Robert Shiver’s estranged wife, was arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023 along with two other people. Prosecutors alleged that the group planned to kill Robert Shiver before returning to south Georgia.

According to the reported account, investigators encountered WhatsApp messages while looking into a break-in at a local bar. The allegations resulted in arrests and court proceedings, but an arrest or prosecution allegation is not the same as a conviction. The sources reviewed for this article do not establish a final adjudicated outcome, so the allegation should not be presented as a proven attempt on Shiver’s life.
The careful description is that Lindsay Shiver was accused of conspiring to kill her estranged husband, or that she was arrested in connection with an alleged murder plot. It is not accurate to state without qualification that she tried to kill Robert Shiver or that she was convicted.
E!’s case explainer provides contemporaneous entertainment-news context, while the WSB-TV report describes the alleged investigation and arrests.
Did Savannah Chrisley and Robert Shiver break up?
Yes. Savannah Chrisley and Robert Shiver later broke up, although the public timeline included a brief reconciliation. E! reported in April 2025 that Chrisley discussed a second breakup and said Shiver had later ghosted her. TMZ separately reported on April 14, 2025, that the couple had split.
The timeline contains an important date distinction: an official Apple Podcasts listing published on January 7, 2025, promoted an episode of Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley titled “Meet My Boyfriend (feat. Robert Shiver).” That listing reflects how Chrisley presented the relationship at that earlier point; it does not contradict later reporting about the breakup.
The available dossier does not establish a later reconciliation, a current relationship, or Robert Shiver’s current occupation after the 2025 breakup reports.

What does Robert Shiver do now?
Robert Shiver’s current occupation is not established by the reliable sources reviewed for this article. The available primary record confirms his Auburn football history, while entertainment coverage focuses mainly on his relationship with Savannah Chrisley and the legal allegations involving his estranged wife.
Unverified claims about Shiver’s net worth, salary, insurance work, business activities, or professional football earnings should not be treated as established facts. The evidence supports describing him as a former Auburn football player from Thomasville, not assigning him a current job or financial profile.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Was Robert Shiver an NFL player?
No NFL career is established in the available evidence. Auburn’s official archive shows that Robert Shiver played college football as a deep snapper from at least 2006 through his senior season in 2008, but the dossier contains no authoritative record of NFL employment.
That distinction matters because many online summaries describe Shiver through his football background without separating college participation from professional football. The documented claim is “former Auburn football player,” not “former NFL player.”
How should the Robert Shiver story be understood?
Robert Shiver’s identity and the publicity surrounding him are separate questions. His Auburn roster provides a direct, verifiable account of his college background. His connection to Savannah Chrisley comes from Chrisley’s own public confirmation and later relationship coverage. The criminal case involving Lindsay Shiver explains why the relationship received unusual attention, but the allegations must remain attributed unless an authoritative court record establishes a final result.
Based on the available reporting, the clearest summary is straightforward: Shiver is a Thomasville, Georgia, native associated with Auburn football, Savannah Chrisley’s former boyfriend, and a central figure in a widely reported but legally sensitive story involving allegations against his estranged wife.
