Sam Darnold is married to Katie Hoofnagle. The Seattle Seahawks reported that the couple wed on April 3, 2026, at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California, so the earlier descriptions of her as his fiancée are out of date. Below is what public reporting establishes about how the relationship became public, the engagement, the wedding, and Hoofnagle’s background, along with the points that remain unconfirmed.
How the relationship became public and when they were engaged
Four public milestones are documented in the reporting reviewed for this article. Each is listed with the outlet that reported it.

The 2023 date marks when the relationship became public, according to Us Weekly. It is the earliest date the reporting establishes, and it should not be read as the date the couple first met.
The wedding
The Seahawks report that the ceremony was “no-phone” and that 227 friends and family attended. That guest count is the team’s reported figure, not an independently verified one.
