The cover appeared in the June/July 2021 special double issue of the magazine’s annual “Los 50 Más Bellos” franchise. The issue marked People en Español’s 25th anniversary. Its 50 honorees were split into two groups: 25 iconic figures who had appeared in the magazine since its 1996 launch, and 25 contemporary celebrities making their mark at the time. López was appearing on the list for the tenth time.

Where and when was the cover photographed?
People en Español said the group was photographed in early April 2021 at a former Ricky Martin home in Golden Beach, Florida. The magazine described it as its first group photo shoot since the pandemic began and said the shoot followed the safety protocols required at that time. That is a description of the 2021 production, not current guidance.
