Kacey Musgraves hinted in a May 2026 interview that she was dating again, but she did not identify the person. The interview does not establish whether she was still seeing anyone as of October 8, 2026.
Did Kacey Musgraves reveal who she is dating?
No. Asked by The Independent in May 2026 whether she was dating, Musgraves replied, “Well, the dry spell has been broken, I’ll just say that.” Her answer suggested she had begun dating again, but she did not name the person or describe the relationship further.

That comment is a dated hint, not confirmation of a current boyfriend or partner. It does not verify whether the situation continued through October 8, 2026.
What has Musgraves said about being single?
In the same Independent interview, Musgraves described her most recent boyfriend as part of a “last round” of familiar unhealthy relationship dynamics. The cited passage does not identify him. She also said, “I really learned that being alone does not have to equal being lonely.”
#1 Best Overall
In a September 2024 NPR interview with Rachel Martin, she said, “I’m in a period of time where this chapter is not defined by anyone else but me.” That was her perspective at the time, not an update about her dating status in 2026.
What do her recent interviews say about her relationships?
In 2026, ELLE discussed Musgraves’s single life and placed a later breakup in 2023. The article connects the music on Middle of Nowhere to that breakup and quotes her joking about singlehood; it does not identify a current partner.

- Recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A, with additional production at The Castle and Blackbird Studio, Traveller was produced by Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) and recorded by Vance Powell (Jack White)
A CBS extended interview with correspondent Anthony Mason, aired April 26, 2026, describes Middle of Nowhere as inspired by loneliness following a breakup. It provides context for the album, not the identity of anyone Musgraves may be dating.

No current relationship is established by the available reporting. 2022 coverage identified Cole Schafer as Musgraves’s boyfriend, but that is historical reporting and does not show that they are together now.
