How did Josh Hartnett meet Tamsin Egerton?
Hartnett said he and Egerton met while making a film in London, where they played a married couple. In a 2024 conversation with Julia Stiles for Interview Magazine, he recalled that they were both in other relationships when they met, later ended those relationships, and began dating after production.
The Independent identifies the film as The Lovers and reports that the pair were first linked publicly in 2012. That public-link date is the publication’s account, rather than a date Hartnett gave in his interview.

When did they get married?
Hartnett and Egerton married in November 2021. Vanity Fair reported the date after confirmation from Hartnett’s representative; the article was published on March 8, 2022.
How many children do they have?
They have four children. Hartnett stated the number in his 2024 Interview Magazine conversation, and later profiles also describe a family of four. The couple are private about their children, so names and other identifying details are not included here.

Where do Josh Hartnett and Tamsin Egerton live?
Profiles published in 2024 and 2026 place the family in the Hampshire countryside. The Guardian’s 2024 profile described Hartnett as living there with his wife and four children; Vanity Fair’s 2026 profile also places the family in Hampshire. Those reports establish only a broad county-level location.

Hartnett has said that he wanted to protect his life from being overtaken by work. In a Guardian interview, he put it this way: “I just didn’t want my life to be swallowed up by my work.” He has also spoken about wanting to experience his children growing up. A 2026 Vanity Fair profile says he credits Egerton with helping manage family responsibilities when his work takes him away; that is his account, not a basis for assuming more about their private arrangements.
