Recent coverage spells her first name “Izabel,” while the headline uses “Isabel”; both refer to the same person. The newest reports, from May and June 2026, place the two together in public. They do not describe the couple’s private life, and they do not confirm their status after those dates.
Who Izabel Pakzad is
Pakzad is described as an actress and filmmaker. A January 2025 profile in the South China Morning Post uses the same description. A June 2026 account of the Los Angeles premiere of Find Your Friends, published by Just Jared, identifies the film as her directorial debut and says she wrote and directed it.
That report said the film would stream on Shudder beginning June 12, 2026. Availability can change after a launch date is announced, so check the service directly before relying on that date.

What the reporting does and does not establish
- Start of the relationship: Only an approximate lower bound is reported (since at least November 2017), along with Franco’s own estimate of seven and a half years. Neither gives an exact start date. The two figures are roughly consistent with each other, but no source ties them to a specific month.
- Public appearances: The Cannes appearance is dated and documented. It shows the two together at an event. It does not show anything about how they live day to day.
- Statements: Franco’s remarks about the relationship and his past are his account. They have not been independently verified, and Pakzad’s own public comments on the relationship were not found in the reporting reviewed.

On the relationship
In a 2024 Variety interview, as quoted by the San Francisco Chronicle in May 2026, Franco said:
“I’ve had a relationship for seven-and-a-half years. I was never able to do that before. I was just too scared, really, to have any sort of real intimacy with anyone.”
On the Cannes appearance
Speaking to Deadline at Cannes, Franco said, “It’s not true I’ve been hiding out.” The San Francisco Chronicle quoted the remark on May 14, 2026. The reporting does not include the question that prompted it, so the comment should be read without assuming what it responded to.
On his earlier behavior
In his 2021 interview with ABC News, Franco discussed his past infidelity. He said:
