He has said that social-media viewers impressed by the food’s appearance came to try it in person. That is his account of the connection—not a measured conversion rate—and the available sources do not establish TikTok alone as the cause of his rise.
Who is CZN Burak?
Burak Özdemir is a Turkish chef and restaurateur known by the public name CZN Burak. A 2020 profile by Sözcü describes him as the proprietor of Hatay Medeniyetler Sofrası Aksaray and reports that his food posts helped popularize the restaurant.
Sözcü also reported that “CZN” was derived from the name of his father’s Cinzano textile firm. According to the profile, customers had difficulty pronouncing the firm’s name, and the shortened form became Özdemir’s nickname. This origin is reported by Sözcü; it is not an independently verified first-person account.
How did CZN Burak become famous?
Cooking videos built on food and personality
Özdemir has described his early social-media activity as sharing what he enjoyed doing. In an interview with Times Monaco, he recalled being drawn to food through meals his mother cooked and identified her as an important influence. The interview characterizes his content as Turkish recipes, while secondary coverage points to visually striking, often oversized dishes and his direct presence and smile on camera.

Those elements help explain what viewers could recognize in his videos: food prepared in a highly visual way by a chef who looks directly into the camera. They do not prove that any single format, platform algorithm, or marketing tactic caused his audience to grow. The available account describes a broader social-media presence, including Instagram and TikTok, rather than establishing TikTok as the sole driver.
His own account of social media bringing diners in
Özdemir directly connected his online visibility with restaurant visits. In the Times Monaco interview, he said: “Of course, the contribution of my social media account to my current restaurant is huge, because people who see my cooking stories and videos that I share on social media are impressed by the image and come to try it.” This is his explanation of how the videos related to his restaurant business; the interview does not quantify how many viewers became diners.

Does CZN Burak share his recipes?
Not necessarily. When Times Monaco asked him to share an easy dish, Özdemir replied: “Every recipe of a chef is like his treasure. That’s why my recipes are always a secret to me.” His videos may show food being prepared, but that does not mean they provide a complete, reproducible version of his own recipes. A general Turkish cookbook can be a way to explore the cuisine, but it should not be mistaken for a CZN Burak cookbook or an endorsed collection of his private recipes.

Restaurant locations need a date attached. At the time of the Times Monaco interview, Özdemir listed restaurants in Istanbul, Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Uzbekistan, Bradford, Tajikistan, and Jordan, and said locations in six more countries were under construction. That is a dated interview snapshot, not a current directory.

On September 4, 2025, Gulf News reported that Özdemir had announced: “I no longer have any legal or business ties with any company in Dubai.” The report updates the Dubai situation, but it does not establish the present status of every other location in the older interview list. The sources cited here do not settle his complete current restaurant footprint.
