She first appears in the season 2 finale, when Tyland Lannister seeks the Triarchy’s naval support for the Greens. The season 2 introduction is no longer the character’s latest development: season 3 has aired, and reporting based on an interview with Thorn says Lohar dies in its premiere.
Who is Admiral Sharako Lohar?
Warner Bros. Discovery’s season 2 character description calls Sharako Lohar “an eccentric Lysene commander of the Triarchy fleet.” The Triarchy is the alliance Tyland Lannister approaches for naval support as the Greens seek an advantage in the war. Lohar is the commander Tyland must persuade.
Abigail Thorn plays Lohar. The character makes her first screen appearance in the season 2 finale, in a negotiation that includes a mud-wrestling contest between Lohar and Tyland. The scene presents Lohar as an unconventional and commanding figure, rather than simply a functionary delivering the Triarchy’s answer.
How is the television character different from the book version?
House of the Dragon is based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood. Entertainment coverage describes the book’s Lohar as a male Lysene admiral, while the series presents Lohar as a woman, played by Thorn. The television version is therefore an adaptation of the book character, not a detail-for-detail match.

| Aspect | Fire & Blood | House of the Dragon |

| Character | Sharako Lohar, described in entertainment reporting as a male Lysene admiral. | Sharako Lohar, an eccentric Lysene commander of the Triarchy fleet, played by Abigail Thorn. |
| Gender presentation and language | The cited coverage identifies the book version as male. | Lohar is a woman; other Triarchy characters use he/him language for her in the series. |
| Story placement | The cited coverage establishes the character’s presence in the book, but does not provide enough detail here for a scene-by-scene comparison. | She is introduced in the season 2 finale during Tyland’s effort to secure the Triarchy’s support. |
Why do characters call Lohar “he”?
In the series, other Triarchy members refer to Lohar with he/him language even while acknowledging that she is a woman. That is fictional dialogue about Lohar; it should not be confused with Abigail Thorn’s identity as the actor portraying her.
Showrunner Ryan Condal has explained, as reported by Sky, that Lohar occupies a woman’s position of command in a patriarchal society. The show’s pronoun choices belong to that in-world characterization. The available explanation does not establish a broader claim about Lohar’s personal identity beyond what the series and its creators describe.
