Since 2025 she has been widely linked in entertainment coverage to Deion Sanders, the NFL Hall of Famer and college football coach. Tran has said she is dating, but she did not name Sanders when she said it. Later reporting describes the pair as Instagram-official and more openly together in 2026. The most recent status report reviewed for this article is an NDTV Sports story updated September 25, 2026, and the relationship details below come from reporting rather than a joint announcement.
Who is Karrueche Tran?
Tran works as an actor and model. A July 29, 2025 profile in Hindustan Times also describes her as a radio host and socialite, and notes her work on BET’s 106 & Park and as a red-carpet host for the BET Awards. Those background details come from that secondary profile and have not been independently confirmed here, so treat them as reported biography rather than an official record.
Her acting work and the role of Vivian Johnson-Garrett
Tran’s most verifiable professional credit is her role as Vivian Johnson-Garrett on The Bay. That role is the basis for her best-documented industry recognition.
The 2021 Daytime Emmy
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ official 2021 winners list names the category “Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program” and credits “Karrueche Tran, as Vivian Johnson-Garrett” under The Bay. Describing her as a Daytime Emmy winner for that role is therefore supported by the awards body’s own listing.
Is Karrueche Tran dating Deion Sanders?
Reporting supports the claim that the two are in a relationship, but the public record is built from her own general statement, a few public appearances, and later news coverage. Tran has not, in the material reviewed, made a direct announcement naming Sanders as her partner. The timeline below separates what each source actually says.
| Period | What was reported | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| July 2025 | Dating rumors began after videos showed Tran at Sanders’ hospital bedside before surgery related to his cancer diagnosis. | NDTV reporting. Rumor-stage coverage based on video sightings, not a statement from either person. |
| August 2025 | Tran said “Yeah, I’m dating” on the What’s Next With J. Ryan podcast. | The Sporting News, August 29, 2025. The same report notes she did not name Sanders, so the quote alone does not confirm him as her partner. |
| Late December 2025 | The pair went Instagram-official. | NDTV reporting. This is the first point at which later coverage describes an open couple status. |
| 2026 | The two became more open publicly, with shared outings and public support reported. | NDTV reporting. These are described as publicly reported events, not a window into their private life. |
What Tran has said
On the August 2025 podcast, Tran said, “Yeah, I’m dating.” That is the only direct statement from her quoted in the coverage reviewed. It does not name a partner.

What Sanders has said
NDTV’s September 25, 2026 report attributes the following description to Sanders on his Tubi series We Got Time Today: Tran is a “good woman” and “good person,” and she has “added so much to my life and my days and my moments.” NDTV’s report is the source for this wording. The coverage reviewed does not include a transcript, so these are the phrases as reported rather than verified full remarks.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is not established
- The date the relationship actually began. Reporting in 2025 described rumors and sightings, and the late-December 2025 Instagram post is the first dated milestone in the coverage reviewed.
- Private relationship details. Nothing reviewed establishes the terms, living arrangements, or other personal matters between the two.
- Any change in status after September 25, 2026. This article reflects reporting up to that date and does not account for later developments.
For readers who want to follow the story, the most useful checkpoints are direct statements from Tran or Sanders themselves, and the award record for her acting credits. Coverage that relies on unnamed sources or paparazzi-style sightings should be read as reporting, not confirmation.
