DC’s Absolute Universe version of Oliver Queen is Green Arrow, introduced in a preview associated with Absolute Evil #1. He is framed as a freedom-fighting vigilante willing to risk his life—a notably recognizable kind of hero amid the line’s darker portrayals. The idea that the universe “needs” him is an editorial interpretation of that contrast, not an established consensus about DC’s comics.

Which comic introduces him?
A preview for Absolute Evil #1 is associated with Green Arrow’s introduction. An IMDb news page reproducing a CBR article by John Dodge, dated September 29, 2025, says the issue was on sale October 1, but that sentence does not identify the year. The date alone therefore should not be used to infer a publication year. Read the IMDb page reproducing the CBR article.
Why might Green Arrow be what the Absolute Universe needs?
The case rests on contrast. The account describes this Oliver as a freedom-fighting vigilante, while characterizing other Absolute Universe portrayals broadly as dour or grim-and-gritty. A hero with a familiar commitment to freedom and personal risk could offer a different tonal point of reference.

That is an interpretation of the preview’s framing, not proof that the line lacks other heroic characters or that readers agree on what it needs. The available excerpt does not support a detailed comparison with specific characters or issues, or a ranking of Green Arrow against them.
