Spoilers for all three books: Belly ends up with Conrad Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty book trilogy. She is engaged to Jeremiah in We’ll Always Have Summer, but the wedding does not happen; after time apart, Belly and Conrad reunite and marry in the epilogue.
Spoiler warning: This article reveals the ending of Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty book trilogy, including We’ll Always Have Summer.
Belly ends up with Conrad Fisher in the books. Although Belly is engaged to Conrad’s brother Jeremiah at the beginning of the final novel, the wedding never takes place. After time apart, Belly and Conrad reunite, and the epilogue reveals that they marry and build a life together.
How Belly and Conrad end up together
The final relationship outcome is revealed in We’ll Always Have Summer, the third and concluding book in the trilogy. Belly starts the novel in a serious relationship with Jeremiah. Their future appears settled until Belly learns that Jeremiah slept with someone else during spring break.

Despite the betrayal—and despite the fact that she still has unresolved feelings for Conrad—Belly accepts Jeremiah’s marriage proposal. The engagement does not resolve the love triangle, however. Belly’s decision is shaped partly by her history with Jeremiah and partly by her attempt to move beyond Conrad.
When Belly returns to Cousins Beach, being around Conrad brings those feelings back to the surface. Conrad is still in love with her, and he eventually tells her how he feels. Belly rejects him at first. She believes he has waited too long to be honest, and she also recognizes that she needs distance from the emotional triangle rather than immediately choosing one brother over the other.

Why Belly and Jeremiah do not get married
Belly’s engagement to Jeremiah ends before the wedding. The relationship has real importance in the story, but it cannot erase her continuing attachment to Conrad. The planned marriage becomes a sign that Belly and Jeremiah are trying to force a permanent future before they have fully dealt with the complications between them—and with Belly’s feelings for Conrad.
After the breakup, Belly spends time away from both Fisher brothers, including a period studying abroad. That separation matters to the ending: the final choice is not simply Belly moving directly from Jeremiah to Conrad. She has time to grow up, establish more independence, and understand what she wants outside the immediate pressure of Cousins Beach and the love triangle.

What the epilogue reveals
The epilogue reunites Belly and Conrad after their period apart. Their relationship ultimately becomes permanent: Belly and Conrad marry. Jeremiah does not marry Belly, and the conclusion gives him a separate future rather than making him the romantic winner of the trilogy.
So the book ending is:
- Belly Conklin: ends up with Conrad.
- Conrad Fisher: confesses that he still loves Belly and eventually marries her.
- Jeremiah Fisher: does not marry Belly; their engagement ends.
Which book contains the answer?
The answer is resolved in We’ll Always Have Summer. The first two novels establish Belly’s long-running connection with both brothers, but the third book contains the engagement, Conrad’s confession, the canceled wedding, the period of separation, and the final reunion.
Rank #4
If you want to read the resolution directly, We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han is the most relevant book to pick up. Readers who want the relationship history and the full progression of the triangle can instead start with The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy boxed set, which contains The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer. Edition availability and prices can vary by retailer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the TV ending the same as the book ending?
Not necessarily. The television adaptation is based on Jenny Han’s trilogy, but the show is its own version of the story and is not required to reproduce the third novel scene for scene. Changes to timing, character development, and relationship events can affect how the adaptation reaches—or departs from—the books’ conclusion.
