Toni Storm’s AEW attacker has not been officially revealed. A retrospective published October 3, 2026, described the mystery as unresolved, so claims that the attacker was “revealed” overstate what is known.
What happened to Toni Storm on AEW Dynamite?
The angle aired on the March 18, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite, after Storm’s last official match: a win over Marina Shafir at AEW Revolution, according to WrestleTalk’s October 3 retrospective. On the show, Storm was found attacked backstage. Mina Shirakawa and Luther were shown attending to her, as PWTorch’s report describes.
This was a scripted on-screen wrestling angle. The coverage does not establish a real-world assault, and the mystery-story language sometimes used around the segment should not be taken literally.
What clues appeared at the scene?
WrestleTalk describes a mask, flowers, a bloody heel, broken glass, sneakers, a gold-colored steel chair, a bull rope, a cowbell and a kendo stick among the scene details. The items have been interpreted as possible references to multiple wrestlers; a related art print reportedly widened the pool of suggested suspects.

Those details can fuel fan theories, but none confirms who attacked Storm. Props and visual references in a storyline are not an official identification.
Who has been suggested as the attacker?
In an August 8, 2026 report about the What Happened When podcast, Wrestling Inc reported that AEW announcer Tony Schiavone said, “I wouldn’t put it past Thekla, or I wouldn’t put it past Mercedes Mone.” Luther said, “I wouldn’t put it past anybody,” and added that everyone was jealous of “The Madam.”
Rank #2
These were possibilities voiced by Schiavone and Luther, not an AEW reveal. Neither the scene clues nor the podcast comments establish a canonical culprit.
What is known about Storm’s absence?
March 2026 coverage said Storm was being written out of storylines and was not expected to return to action for the remainder of that year. Wrestleview relayed reports that she was not cleared to wrestle through the rest of 2026 at minimum, while the injury’s extent and a return timetable were not disclosed; the reporting also said creative direction for the attacker storyline was planned. These were time-bound secondary reports, not an official medical update (Wrestleview; PWTorch).
