- Self-disclosed relationships. A performer or staff member speaks about a partner in an interview or on their own account. The LeRae interview and the Joseph and Mitchell interview fall here. Even so, check the date, because an interview can be years old.
- Secondary reports of an announcement. An outlet reports that a couple announced something, usually from a social-media post. The Dixon and Sorrell report is in this group. Trust it more once the original post has been located and read.
- Speculation or interpretation. Fans or outlets read meaning into deleted posts, changed profile details, or who appears with whom. The Vaquer and Borne coverage is in this group. It can be wrong in either direction.
Checks to run before you repeat a claim
