There is no official strength ranking of the Black Bulls. The official character pages identify the squad and describe selected members’ magic, but they do not compare their combat ability. So a precise, canon-backed list from strongest to weakest cannot be established from those sources alone. This guide separates what the official material confirms from what would require a feat-by-feat manga comparison.
Is there an official ranking of the Black Bulls?
No. The official anime character roster and the official movie character profiles describe characters, squad membership, and selected abilities; neither publishes a comparative leaderboard. Any ordered ranking should therefore be labeled as an editorial judgment, not canon.
The official roster groups Finral Roulacase, Magna Swing, Luck Voltia, Gauche Adlai, Vanessa Enoteca, Charmy Pappitson, Gordon Agrippa, Grey, Henry Legolant, Zora Ideale, and Secre Swallowtail under the Black Bulls. Asta, captain Yami Sukehiro, and Noelle Silva also have profile entries. The movie profiles include Nacht Faust among its characters as well. These pages establish who is being discussed, not how each member ranks in a fight.
What the official profiles say about the strongest contenders
The official descriptions provide useful ability context, but not enough evidence to order the squad by strength:

- Asta: identified as a Black Bull who uses anti-magic. VIZ also describes his rare five-leaf clover grimoire on its Black Clover series page.
- Yami: identified as the squad captain, with dark magic.
- Noelle: identified as a Black Bull with water magic.
- Nacht: included among the principal character profiles; the cited official descriptions do not establish a relative combat rank for him.
These are character-profile facts, not comparative results. An unusual ability, leadership role, or magic attribute by itself does not prove who would win a duel or perform best across different matchups.
Why a single strongest-to-weakest list needs manga feat comparisons
A defensible ranking would need to compare actual fights and the conditions around them: the opponents faced, repeatability, versatility, limitations, duration of any temporary form or boost, and how much a character relied on another person’s power or assistance. Raw magical output or one favorable matchup would not settle the question.
The official VIZ listing for Black Clover Vol. 37 describes the late-series conflict involving Asta, Yuno, and Lucius, with help from their friends. That establishes why manga developments matter and why an anime-only reader may encounter spoilers in a late-series ranking. It does not supply the character-by-character evidence needed to rank the Black Bulls. The official Shonen Jump portal is available at Shonen Jump’s Black Clover page.
Combat strength is not the same as team value
A solo-duel ranking would miss abilities that make a member valuable to the squad. The movie profiles describe Finral’s spatial magic, Secre’s sealing magic, and Henry’s ability to gather the magic of others and use it to transform the Black Bulls’ base. The profiles also identify Luck’s lightning magic and strong sensing, and Zora’s trap-oriented ash magic.

Those descriptions point to different kinds of utility—such as transport, sealing, sensing, battlefield control, or support—but do not quantify their impact or make them directly comparable with individual combat strength. A ranking of “most valuable Black Bull” would need its own criteria and should not be treated as a solo-fighting order.

The Black Bulls have no official comparative strength order in the cited character material. Asta, Yami, Noelle, and Nacht are among the key profiles to examine in any manga-based ranking, while the wider roster includes members whose abilities serve distinct combat and support roles. Naming one definitive strongest member—or assigning every member a precise place—requires a chapter-by-chapter analysis of manga feats and conditions that the official profile pages do not provide. Until such comparisons are established, an exact list should be presented as an argued fan ranking, not an official fact.
