What has Minka Kelly said about her mother?
Kelly’s memoir recounts an unsettled childhood and a complicated relationship with Maureen, who was a central figure in her early life. In an interview ahead of the memoir’s release, Kelly described her childhood to People as “colorful and chaotic, unstable and inconsistent, unpredictable and hard a lot of the times,” as quoted by the Los Angeles Times. That is Kelly’s retrospective description, not an independent account of every private family event.
Harper’s Bazaar identifies her mother as Maureen Dumont Kelly and reports that she died of cancer in 2008. The magazine’s 2023 interview coverage provides that biographical detail.
