How did Ray influence Lauren’s interest in flying?
In a 2024 ELLE interview with Nina Garcia, Lauren said both her parents were pilots and recalled that they took her to the airport when they went flying. She said her father was a flight instructor, but added that she knew little about aviation at the time.
Lauren said she decided at 40 that she wanted to learn to fly. Ray helped her find a flight instructor; she did not say that he taught her to fly himself.
