How did Harrison Butker describe his parents’ support?
A 2016 Georgia Tech profile offers a specific picture of the family’s involvement during Butker’s college football years. It reported that his parents attended nearly all his games, and that he visited them and both sets of grandparents, who lived nearby.
His father recorded games and tracked kicking measurements in a detailed spreadsheet. Butker described the calculations this way: “He’s taking into account wind and gravity with ball pressure and the trajectory of my kicks and the angle I want to kick them at. I’ve never seen a spreadsheet like that before. It was crazy.”
In the same interview, Butker reflected on the home in which he grew up: “I think I’ll have had a successful life if I have a good family. If I raise my kids right, and in a good loving home, I’d be very proud, because that’s how my parents raised me, and that means a lot to me.” The comments are his description of his upbringing, not statements made by either parent.
