Schneider responded publicly, saying he loved King, apologizing for shortcomings as a father, and expressing hope that she could forgive him. In a statement quoted by The Independent in August 2024, he said: “I apologize completely for and accept responsibility for not being the parent that I am now with my new kids.”
The public reports establish what King and Schneider said in 2024; they do not establish the family’s private relationship status today. A 2018 interview in which they discussed her music career and album Shake the Spirit is earlier public context, not evidence that their relationship remained unchanged afterward.
