The commonly compiled ThunderClan leader succession is Thunderstar → Owlstar → Finchstar → Whitestar → Lionstar → Morningstar → Leafstorm → Vinestar → Redstar → Stripestar → Whitestar → Oakstar → Doestar → Pinestar → Sunstar → Bluestar → Firestar → Bramblestar → Squirrelstar. This full sequence is a fan-maintained compilation, not a single official publisher roster. The two Whitestars are separate entries.

The list follows a fan-maintained ThunderClan leaders table. It presents a broad succession reaching back into the founding-era stories; it should not be read as an official, exhaustive publisher chronology.
What the official Warriors material confirms
The founding-era starting point
The official Warriors site identifies Thunderstar as ThunderClan’s first forest leader. In the Dawn of the Clans story, Thunder is revealed as the first leader and is later referred to as Thunderstar; the Clan receives the name ThunderClan later in that narrative. The official reading guide places Dawn of the Clans generations before the other story arcs. This distinction explains why a list beginning with Thunderstar includes leaders from a much earlier period than the better-known modern stories.
The later succession
The fan compilation places Oakstar before Doestar, Doestar before Pinestar, and Pinestar before Sunstar. The official Warriors page for The Darkest Hour establishes Fireheart’s change to Firestar and his role as ThunderClan’s leader. The official page for Bramblestar’s Storm identifies Bramblestar as leader after the events of Omen of the Stars. These official pages support important later points, but they do not provide one complete ordered roster.

How to read the list
- It is a compiled succession, not a publisher-issued master list. The detailed early order comes from a fan-maintained reference, while official Warriors pages confirm selected facts and story context.
- Keep both Whitestars. The compilation includes two distinct leaders with that name at different points in the succession.
- “All” depends on scope. A roster may differ depending on whether it includes founding-era figures, historical leaders, or transitional events such as the StormClan departure and return. The list above follows the broad compilation rather than claiming every source uses an identical scope.
- Treat Squirrelstar as the latest name in this compilation, not a guaranteed current-status notice. The sources summarized here do not establish her status against the newest published book.
- Do not infer reign dates from the order. This succession does not supply a reliable chronology of when each leader began or ended a reign.
Where to check the story context
The official Warriors site’s leader-reveal material and reading guide provide context for Thunderstar and Dawn of the Clans. Its pages for The Darkest Hour and Bramblestar’s Storm establish key modern leadership details. The updated and expanded Warriors: The Ultimate Guide is an official field guide with character profiles and Clan information, useful for broader background, though it is not presented here as a complete ordered succession.
