At a June 20, 2025 memorial in Wenatchee, Washington, Whitney Decker spoke publicly about her daughters Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia, sharing small details that captured their personalities and a bedtime ritual she called “the three feelings.” The ritual, she said, helped the family connect and gave her a window into each girl’s day.
Whitney Decker’s first public remarks at the memorial
Decker thanked those who attended and remembered her daughters through the ways they noticed other people. She said Evelyn would have appreciated the attendees’ outfits and the event’s colors. Paityn, she recalled, had a habit of finding someone to compliment. FOX 13 Seattle published a transcript of her remarks in its report on the memorial.
“I truly hope that the legacy of the girls lives in everyone’s heart forever. They were incredible,” Decker said.
What the “three feelings” bedtime tradition meant
After her divorce, Decker and the girls developed a bedtime routine they called “the three feelings.” Each person named three feelings they had experienced that day, then talked about what had been happening when those feelings arose. The conversation gave Decker an inside look into her daughters’ days and, she said, helped them connect when the world slowed down.
