Little Big Town bandmates Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook are married to each other. A People feature republished by Yahoo Entertainment reported that they wed in May 2006—and that fellow members Phillip Sweet and Kimberly Schlapman had spotted the romance before the couple acknowledged it.
When did Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook get married?
The People feature, published August 10, 2024, dates Fairchild and Westbrook’s wedding to May 2006. It says the pair began their music careers alongside Kimberly Schlapman and Phillip Sweet in 1999, but did not become a couple until years later, when both were single.
The same feature reports that Fairchild and Westbrook welcomed their son, Elijah, in March 2010. These dates are reported by People; the feature does not present them as findings from a statistical study.

Sweet recalled that Fairchild and Westbrook “butted heads before they got together,” then summed up the change: “So it’s better, obviously.” Schlapman said, “We knew they were in love before they knew they were in love.”

Sweet also recalled that he and Schlapman would urge the pair to act on their feelings: “We were like, ‘They need to just do it.’” He said they would look at each other and think, “They like each other!” These are quotations as transcribed in the People feature.
Did they worry marriage would change the band?
Westbrook said he wondered how dating might affect the group, recalling, “You think about those things. You’re like, ‘How’s this going to change?’” The feature describes his uncertainty alongside his bandmates’ account that the relationship eased tension between him and Fairchild. Westbrook joked that 18 years later they were “still trying to figure it out.”

What was the 2024 anniversary context?
The feature appeared as Little Big Town marked 25 years as a band, with a Greatest Hits album and a tour planned for fall 2024.
