CBS reportedly cancelled FBI: Most Wanted after six seasons and FBI: International after four. But the “CIA spinoff in development” framing is outdated: CIA has already aired its first season, and CBS advertises its next-season premiere for October 5, 2026.
Which FBI shows did CBS cancel?
A report published by Spoilers Zone on August 15, 2026, says CBS ended FBI: Most Wanted after six seasons and FBI: International after four. Those cancellation details and season counts come from that secondary report, rather than the official CBS pages cited below. Read the Spoilers Zone report.

Is CIA still in development?
No. CBS’s official series page lists a completed first-season episode guide, with 12 episodes dated from February 23 through May 18, 2026. CBS also advertises the show’s next-season premiere for Monday, October 5, 2026, at 9/8c. The development wording in the earlier headline no longer describes the show’s status.
How is CIA connected to FBI?
CBS describes CIA as centering on a clandestine CIA/FBI task force. Its premise pairs secretive CIA Agent Colin Glass with by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman. That makes the series an FBI-connected drama, but its official description emphasizes joint intelligence work rather than simply continuing either cancelled show’s format.

By contrast, CBS describes FBI as a drama about the inner workings of the Bureau’s New York office. The two official descriptions establish a shared FBI connection, while distinguishing the shows’ central operations. CBS’s FBI page advertises the series at 8/7c on Monday, October 5, 2026; CIA is advertised at 9/8c that evening. CBS’s pages state the schedule, not the network’s strategic reason for placing them in adjacent slots.
