Digital rental or purchase
Babygirl became available through major digital video-on-demand storefronts on January 28, 2025. A24’s official film page points viewers to Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, and Fandango at Home. Those are transactional options: a listing for the film may let you rent it for a limited viewing period, buy it for a digital library, or offer both choices.
Do not assume that an Amazon listing is included with an Amazon Prime membership. Check whether the current listing says “rent,” “buy,” or “included” before completing the transaction. The same caution applies to other storefronts: digital prices and terms are not universal, and catalog availability can differ outside the United States.
For the quickest route, use A24’s current storefront links or search for “Babygirl” (2024) within your preferred service. Adding the year matters because unrelated films, songs, and other titles use “Baby Girl” or “Babygirl.”

Streaming on Max
Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Babygirl would begin streaming exclusively on Max in the United States on April 25, 2025. This is the subscription-streaming option, not the same thing as renting or buying the film from an Apple, Amazon, or other digital storefront.
If you already subscribe to Max, search the current catalog for “Babygirl” (2024). If you are considering a new subscription only for this film, verify its current availability first: streaming libraries change, and availability can vary by country and plan. “Available on Max” also does not mean that the movie is free in the broader sense; access requires a qualifying subscription.
What is Babygirl about?
Written and directed by Halina Reijn, Babygirl follows Romy, a powerful chief executive whose carefully managed professional and family life begins to unravel after she starts an affair with Samuel, a much-younger intern at her company.

The film is not a conventional romance. Its drama comes from the collision between Romy’s public authority and private vulnerability, as well as the secrecy, age difference, workplace hierarchy, role-play, shame, desire, and negotiation surrounding the relationship. The CEO-intern power imbalance is central to the story and should not be treated as a model for a real-world workplace relationship. The film deliberately makes that imbalance part of its tension.

Is Babygirl worth watching?
The film has drawn particular attention to Nicole Kidman’s performance and to its treatment of female desire, shame, control, and sexual experimentation as serious dramatic subjects. Critical reception and audience reaction have not been identical, however, so the movie is unlikely to work equally well for everyone.
In the available Rotten Tomatoes snapshot, Babygirl had a 76% critics score from 276 reviews and a 48% verified-audience score from more than 1,000 ratings. IMDb’s snapshot listed a 5.7/10 user rating from approximately 83,000 ratings. These figures are volatile and should be checked again before publication or used as a permanent measure of consensus. They suggest a noticeable divide between professional reviews and audience response rather than a uniformly embraced film.
Box Office Mojo lists approximately $64.7 million worldwide, including about $28.2 million domestically and $36.5 million internationally. Those figures provide release context but do not determine whether the film will suit an individual viewer.

Physical release: Blu-ray and 4K UHD
For viewers who want to own the movie, A24 lists both a standard HD Blu-ray and a 4K UHD edition. The physical release includes:
- Commentary by writer-director Halina Reijn
- Two making-of featurettes
- Deleted scenes
- Six collectible postcards featuring behind-the-scenes photography
The listed specifications include a 2:1 presentation, English Dolby Atmos audio, English SDH subtitles, Spanish subtitles, and the film’s R rating. The disc is therefore the more substantial option for collectors or viewers interested in the production, rather than simply watching the movie once.
A24’s shop also lists an A24 Babygirl 4K UHD edition and a standard Blu-ray. A24 says that Blu-rays bought directly through its shop can provide corresponding digital access through the A24 App for eligible AAA24 members, generally within one week. That policy does not automatically apply to every copy purchased from another retailer, and gifted copies are excluded under the stated terms. Check the shop’s current eligibility rules before relying on digital access as part of the purchase.
For soundtrack collectors
A24 also sells a candy-pink vinyl edition of the Babygirl soundtrack. It features Cristobal Tapia de Veer’s original score and Sky Ferreira’s “Leash.” This is a collector item rather than a viewing requirement, and the official information confirms availability through the A24 Shop—not necessarily through Amazon or every music retailer.
