Where did Mark Wahlberg stay while filming Play Dirty?
In March 2024, realestate.com.au reported that Wahlberg was staying temporarily in a waterfront mansion at Point Piper, an eastern Sydney harbourside suburb, while working on Play Dirty. Wahlberg was quoted saying, “I’m not the owner of the house, but it’s been cool,” making clear that the residence was not his property.

The same report described the house as having three storeys, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and seven parking spaces, on a 1,238-square-metre block. Those are details reported about the residence, not an independent property inspection.
Was the mansion really worth $100 million?
The $100 million figure was a possible-value estimate reported in 2024, not a documented sale or verified appraisal. The clearest sale figure in the available reporting is $51 million: realestate.com.au and Domain both reported that the residence sold for that amount in April 2020.

The 2024 report also suggested the house could rent for up to $50,000 a week. That, too, was an estimate—not a confirmed rental contract or advertised rate. The figures describe different things at different times:

The studio’s account describes the production period, not the length of Wahlberg’s stay at Point Piper.

Ausfilm’s 2025 feature says the film was shot at Disney Studios Australia and on location in Sydney. It also reports that Play Dirty reached number one in 47 markets in its first week on Amazon Prime. That is a release-performance claim attributed to Ausfilm; it does not establish the film’s current availability in any particular country.

No. The mansion report concerned the 2024 filming period. In May 2026, Wahlberg returned to Sydney for a separate production, the Netflix drama The Big Fix, but a follow-up report said his exact accommodation could not be confirmed. The available reporting does not establish that he stayed at the Point Piper residence again.
