As of October 2026, Leslie Odom Jr.’s 2025 return as Aaron Burr is over, while Christopher Jackson is in a scheduled limited return as George Washington through January 3, 2027. Here’s an update on the principal performers and notable company members—not a claim about where they live.

Which original cast members returned to Broadway as their Hamilton characters?
Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr
Odom Jr. returned to Hamilton as Burr for a limited engagement beginning September 9, 2025. That engagement has ended; it should not be described as a current run.
Christopher Jackson as George Washington
The Associated Press reported in June 2026 that Jackson would reprise Washington at the Richard Rodgers Theatre from September 8, 2026, through January 3, 2027. As of October 2026, that is a scheduled limited engagement in progress; consult the production’s performance calendar for exact dates. In its 2026 interview, Jackson said, “I wanted to touch the thing that I feel turned me into an artist in a way that nothing I’d ever done had done,” and, of his return, “I wanted it to touch this thing again.”
What have the cast members done together since the Broadway opening?
Hamilton opened on Broadway on August 6, 2015. At the 78th Tony Awards in 2025, members of the original cast reunited to mark the musical’s tenth anniversary; the announcement did not say that every company member attended. The production has received 16 Tony nominations and 11 wins, according to the Tony Awards’ 2025 announcement, which cited the show’s record at the 70th Annual Tony Awards.

The filmed performance preserves the original Broadway staging rather than presenting a newly filmed narrative adaptation. The Walt Disney Company said the performance was captured at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in June 2016 and announced a theatrical return beginning September 5, 2025, with an added interview prologue titled “Reuniting the Revolution.” Miranda’s official project page lists the filmed production on Disney+.
