The original Beverly Hills Cop cast’s clearest recent reunion came in 2024, when Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot returned for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. The available official updates establish that franchise connection, but they do not provide a complete current biography of every actor from the 1984 film.
From the 1984 original to Axel F
Paramount identifies the original Beverly Hills Cop as a 1984 film starring Eddie Murphy as Detroit detective Axel Foley. The story sends Foley to Beverly Hills, where he encounters officers played by Judge Reinhold and John Ashton. Paramount’s film page lists the original film and its cast.

Four decades later, Netflix brought several familiar faces back alongside Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Netflix’s cast announcement and film materials confirm the returns of Reinhold, Ashton, Reiser and Pinchot. Netflix’s announcement identifies the returning cast; its Axel F feature also notes that Reinhold, alongside Murphy, appears in all four films and identifies Pinchot’s Serge as a returning character.
Where the returning cast members fit today
Eddie Murphy: Axel Foley
Murphy remains the franchise’s central figure in the official account of the reunion: he starred as Axel Foley in the 1984 original and returned to lead Axel F. The sources establish that screen connection, not a broader account of his current personal life or work outside the franchise.

Judge Reinhold: Billy Rosewood
Reinhold’s Billy Rosewood is one of the original Beverly Hills officers Foley meets. Netflix says Reinhold appears in all four Beverly Hills Cop films, making his return in Axel F a particularly continuous thread through the series.
John Ashton: John Taggart
Ashton played John Taggart in the original and returned for Axel F, according to Netflix’s cast announcement. That casting record confirms his place in the reunion; it does not establish what other projects he has pursued or his present-day circumstances.
Rank #2
Paul Reiser
Netflix confirms Reiser’s return in Axel F. The official material cited here supports his participation in the sequel, but does not offer a fuller current career profile.
Bronson Pinchot: Serge
Pinchot returned as Serge, the character identified in Netflix’s Axel F materials. His return links the new film to the original ensemble without implying that the available announcement is a complete account of his recent work.

What is established about the rest of the original cast
Paramount’s original-film page supplies cast context for Lisa Eilbacher, Ronny Cox, Steven Berkoff and other performers. The official materials cited here do not establish sufficiently current, individual updates for them. It would be misleading to turn a cast list or a broad retrospective feature into claims about each actor’s present work, home, relationships or health.
