Screen projects
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is an eight-episode scripted limited series, with Knox credited as a writer and executive producer on her official site. A scripted series is a dramatization, not a documentary or court record. Check local streaming listings for current availability.
#1 Best Overall
Mouth of the Wolf follows Knox from 2019 to 2024 as she returned to Italy and met the prosecutor who sent her to prison. The documentary is directed by her husband, Christopher Robinson. Her official site lists it as available on Hulu and Disney+, but streaming catalogs vary by country and change over time.
One-woman show: Cartwheel
Cartwheel debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2026. Its title refers to a tabloid-era story about Knox doing cartwheels in a police station. The Edinburgh engagement has passed, so future performances should be checked against current event listings.
Rank #2
The show also prompted a public dispute. The Associated Press reported criticism from Meredith Kercher’s sister. Knox responded that the show “honors Meredith Kercher’s memory and calls out the violence that was done to her and to me.” Those are attributed positions, not a settled consensus about the show’s intent or effect. Where she lives and her family
Netflix Tudum describes Knox as living in Washington State with her husband and two children. A September 2026 Italian interview identifies her husband as Christopher Robinson and the children as Eureka and Echo. Public sources establish the state, not a more precise home location. Knox has written two memoirs: Waiting to Be Heard and Free: My Search for Meaning. Published in 2025, Free is her firsthand account of incarceration, rebuilding her life and returning to Italy. It presents Knox’s perspective rather than an independent investigation of the case. Innocence Project Deutschland
For readers choosing how to learn about her story, the formats serve different purposes: the memoirs are first-person accounts; Mouth of the Wolf and the 2016 documentary Amanda Knox are documentaries; and The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is scripted drama. They should not be treated as interchangeable sources of evidence.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What happened after the 2007 case?
Knox was a 20-year-old American exchange student in Perugia, Italy, when her roommate Meredith Kercher was murdered in November 2007. Knox and her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were arrested and convicted before being acquitted through Italy’s legal proceedings. Italy’s highest court definitively acquitted Knox in 2015. Rudy Guede was separately convicted in the case; his conviction is distinct from Knox’s acquittal. Amanda Knox’s official site The Associated Press
That high-level timeline does not capture the full court record or forensic disputes. The essential distinction for an update on Knox is that her legal outcome was a definitive acquittal, while Guede’s conviction was separate.
