No reliable public source establishes where Tyria Moore lives today. The Florida court record places her in Pennsylvania during the investigation into Aileen Wuornos, but that is a historical detail—not evidence of her current residence. Later claims that Moore lives in Pennsylvania or entered witness protection remain unconfirmed.
What is known about Tyria Moore’s whereabouts?
Moore has kept out of public view since the Wuornos trial, according to recent profiles. Biography.com identifies her appearance on an August 1992 episode of Dateline as her only known public interview after the trial. LegalClarity also reports no known public appearances since then. This describes the documented public record; it does not prove she has never spoken privately or appeared under another name.

Some coverage repeats claims that Moore remained in Pennsylvania or entered witness protection, but those claims are not verified. The sources reviewed do not establish her present location, marital status, or identity under any protection program.
Why Pennsylvania appears in accounts of Moore
The Florida Supreme Court’s account of the case says Moore left Wuornos after seeing reports about the murder investigation and returned north. Investigators later contacted her in Pennsylvania. Moore agreed to return to Florida to clear herself of wrongdoing and help elicit a confession from Wuornos. That record explains her whereabouts at the time; it does not show where she lives now.

Moore’s relationship with Wuornos and role in the case
According to the Florida Supreme Court, Moore and Wuornos lived together as lovers for about four and a half years. Moore worked as a maid, while Wuornos worked as a sex worker along Central Florida highways. The court account says Wuornos told Moore she had killed a man on December 1, 1989.
Moore cooperated with investigators and later testified at trial. In a 1992 Dateline interview, she was quoted as saying of Wuornos, “She was a great person and I did fall in love.” LegalClarity reports that quotation secondhand; without the original broadcast or transcript, its exact wording should be treated as a secondary-source account.

Do documentaries or newer coverage reveal where she is?
Renewed attention to Wuornos through documentaries and dramatizations has not supplied verified information about Moore’s current whereabouts. TIME’s 2025 coverage of a Netflix documentary discusses archival material and the historical relationship, but does not report where Moore is now. A fictionalized portrayal, an unverified social-media account, or a person with the same name cannot establish her identity or location.
