Two other dates often get mixed up with that one: a Los Angeles world-premiere event at the TCL Chinese Theatre, which Disney confirmed but did not date in its announcement, and the Disney+ streaming start on January 7, 2026.
When TRON: Ares was released in theaters
Disney’s film page lists October 10, 2025 as the theatrical release date. Disney’s UK press announcement gives the same day for UK cinemas. If you need the film’s public opening date, that is the one to use.
The Los Angeles world premiere
Disney also announced a world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, where cast and filmmakers gathered for the event. The announcement describes the evening as taking place “earlier tonight,” but its text does not give a calendar date, so no exact day for the premiere can be confirmed from it. Treat the premiere as a separate invitation-style event, not as a second release date.
Disney’s announcement also says Nine Inch Nails performed three songs outside the venue after the screening.

Nine Inch Nails composed the original motion-picture soundtrack. Disney’s premiere announcement describes a 24-track soundtrack. At the July 2025 San Diego Comic-Con presentation, as reported by the Associated Press, producer Steven Lisberger, who created the original TRON, said: “My feeling about ‘Tron’ is that the most important thing is we kick this technology around artistically before it kicks us around.”
