Stranger Things 5 arrived in three releases in late 2025, rather than as one full-season drop. Its finale premiered on December 31, 2025, and Netflix confirmed on January 1, 2026 that every episode was streaming. The announced release time for each batch was 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
Stranger Things 5 release schedule
Netflix split the final season into three batches. The dates below are the announced U.S. dates; because the releases happened simultaneously worldwide, the local calendar date could differ by time zone.
| Release | Episodes | Announced date | Release time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Volume 1 | 4 | November 26, 2025 | 5 p.m. Pacific Time |
| Volume 2 | 3 | December 25, 2025 | 5 p.m. Pacific Time |
| Finale | 1 | December 31, 2025 | 5 p.m. Pacific Time |
Netflix listed the three-part schedule in its Media Center, and its Tudum schedule confirmed the episode counts and Pacific release times. If you are checking when an episode became available where you live, convert 5 p.m. Pacific to your time zone; the resulting local date may be the following day.
Where to watch the complete season
All episodes are streaming on Netflix. The service’s January 2026 final-season coverage guide confirmed that the finale and every other episode were available there.

- In 1980s Indiana a group of friends witness supernatural forces and government exploits. In searching for answers, they unravel a series of mysteries.
What the final season is about
Netflix’s spoiler-light premise places the story in fall 1987, after the Rifts have scarred Hawkins. The group is trying to find Vecna while the government quarantines the town and intensifies its hunt for Eleven. Netflix’s season listing gives that setup.
Finale runtime and theater screenings
The finale runs 2 hours 5 minutes, according to Netflix Tudum’s 2025 announcement. Netflix also said limited fan screenings began December 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. Pacific Time and ran through January 1, 2026, in more than 500 theaters. Those screenings were a limited event, not a replacement for the season’s Netflix release. Netflix Tudum’s announcement has the screening details.
