In a 2023 interview on Sunrise, Sebastian recalled: “I was 18 when we first got together and I think I was 21 (when we broke up).” He said Jules was the one who ended the relationship. Why the split surprised him
Sebastian said, “I didn’t think we would get back together.” He also reflected on their long history and said Jules had always loved him for who he was, according to the same 7NEWS account.
How their later marriage fits the timeline
Sebastian and Jules later married in May 2008 and have two sons, according to PerthNow’s 28 September 2023 report. The wedding date establishes that they were together again by then; the reports do not say when they reconciled.

Is this the same breakup associated with “Bloodstone”?
Not necessarily. A separate 2017 account linked Sebastian’s song “Bloodstone,” from the album Conscious, to a near-breakup with Jules. The available reports do not establish that this was the same split he described on Sunrise, so the two stories should not be treated as one event.
