9-1-1 Season 7 aired on ABC from March 14 to May 30, 2024. It was the show’s first season on ABC after six seasons on Fox. ABC’s announcements confirm the network change, but do not give a specific reason for it.
When did 9-1-1 Season 7 air?
Season 7 premiered Thursday, March 14, 2024, and ended Thursday, May 30, 2024. ABC identified the premiere as “Abandon ‘Ships” (episode 701) and the finale as “All Fall Down” (episode 710), establishing a 10-episode season.

The premiere followed Athena and Bobby on their honeymoon cruise, where duty interrupted the trip, according to ABC’s 2024 midseason schedule announcement. ABC’s finale announcement named May 30 as the air date for “All Fall Down.”
Where could viewers watch new episodes?
For the 2024 season, ABC said episodes would be available on demand and on Hulu the day after their premieres. That was the network’s release plan at the time, not a guarantee of current streaming availability, subscription terms, or access in every region. Check ABC and Hulu’s current listings for where Season 7 can be watched now.

Why did 9-1-1 move from Fox to ABC?
The confirmed timeline is straightforward: 9-1-1 aired for six seasons on Fox, then Season 7 moved to ABC. The Walt Disney Company announced that the drama was “now on ABC” after its Fox run in its network-transition announcement. ABC had also included the show in its 2023–2024 season slate.
Those official announcements confirm the move but do not explain the specific business reason behind it. They do not establish that the change was caused by production costs, ratings, ownership, or any other particular factor. The accurate answer is that Fox canceled the series and ABC picked it up; the cited announcements leave the rationale unstated.

What ABC’s audience figures do—and do not—show
ABC reported 9.59 million total viewers and a 2.05 Adults 18–49 rating after seven days of viewing for Season 7. The network said those figures included viewing across ABC, Hulu, and digital platforms, and described the season as tied for the No. 1 primetime drama in Live+7 Adults 18–49 rating. These are ABC-reported multiplatform figures, not same-day broadcast ratings. ABC’s seven-day results provide the methodology context.
ABC later reported 13.47 million total viewers and a 3.46 Adults 18–49 rating after 35 days of viewing, also combining ABC, Hulu, and digital platforms. These figures describe Season 7’s reported audience performance; they do not, by themselves, explain why Fox canceled the show or why ABC acquired it. ABC’s 35-day results detail that viewing window.
