There is an important distinction between this weekend’s actual premieres and shows that arrived earlier in the week but remain the best fresh viewing options. Netflix and Disney+ have the clearest Friday premieres, Hulu adds several films and a new Hulu Original, and Prime Video’s major draw is its Wednesday launch of Reacher. Apple’s confirmed weekend offering is live baseball rather than a major new scripted series.
This guide covers the U.S. streaming schedule for August 14–16, 2026. Dates and availability can change, particularly for international Netflix titles, so check each service’s app before planning a watch party.
Weekend streaming picks at a glance
| Service | Best choice | When it is available | What to know |

Netflix: a new film, two series premieres, and a Thursday head start
Don’t Say Good Luck — Friday, August 14
Don’t Say Good Luck is Netflix’s main film recommendation for the weekend. It is scheduled as a new Netflix release, not as a previously theatrical movie making its streaming debut. That makes it the clearest choice for viewers who want to press play on something newly launched rather than catch up on an ongoing series.

Moria and Umthetho — Friday, August 14
Netflix also lists the series premieres of Moria and Umthetho for August 14. Because international Netflix schedules and regional catalogs can differ, viewers in the United States should confirm that both titles appear in the U.S. Netflix interface on launch day. The available schedule confirms their August 14 placement but does not, by itself, establish that every Netflix market will receive them simultaneously.
Worth starting early: Tires Season 3
Tires Season 3 arrives Thursday, August 13, one day before the defined weekend. It is still a useful binge recommendation for Friday-through-Sunday viewing, especially for anyone who wants a complete season available before the weekend begins.
Netflix also lists the MLB at Field of Dreams Game for August 13. Like Tires, it is technically a Thursday arrival, but it gives sports viewers another option outside the usual film-and-series lineup.
Hulu: the deepest list of Friday film additions
Hulu’s official August schedule lists five notable Friday additions, plus a new Hulu Original. These should be understood as Hulu arrivals or catalog additions unless the service specifically describes them as original premieres.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

- Busboys (2026): a new Hulu addition.
- Violent Ends (2025): a 2025 film added to Hulu.
- The Wizard of the Kremlin (2025): another 2025 film arriving on the service.
- The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008): the standard version of the 2008 film.
- The X-Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn (2026) — Director’s Cut: the most distinctive Hulu genre pick of the weekend.
The X-Files director’s cut is not simply a duplicate listing. Disney’s platform announcement describes it as a new, R-rated Chris Carter cut with restored material. Fans comparing versions should therefore look for the Director’s Cut label rather than assuming the older 2008 release contains the same edit.

Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear — Friday, August 14
Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear also premieres on Hulu on August 14. Hulu’s schedule and Disney’s announcement classify it as a Hulu Original premiere, making it a stronger “new this weekend” recommendation than the catalog films listed above.
Saturday, August 15: complete unscripted seasons and Next Goal Wins
Hulu adds Next Goal Wins (2023) on Saturday, August 15. It also adds new complete seasons of several unscripted programs, including:
- Bakers vs. Fakers
- Evil Lives Here
- Expedition X
- Say Yes to the Dress
That Saturday slate is particularly useful for viewers looking for documentary-style, reality, investigation, or comfort viewing rather than a single high-profile scripted premiere.
Disney+: Camp Rock 3 is the family and nostalgia event
Camp Rock 3 — Friday, August 14
Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney+ Friday, August 14. In the new installment, Connect 3 returns to Camp Rock after losing its opening act, while campers compete for a major touring opportunity. It is the weekend’s clearest family-oriented choice and the strongest nostalgia-driven pick for viewers who remember the earlier films.
Disney+ also lists several sports and documentary-oriented additions or episodes for August 14:

- A new episode of Flex X Cop
For DocumentaryTube readers, the E60, Tim Richmond, and Venus vs. selections may be more relevant than the headline franchise premiere. They provide sports-focused alternatives for viewers who want real people, competition, and athletic history instead of fiction.
Prime Video: Reacher Season 4 is the major catch-up binge
Reacher Season 4 began Wednesday, August 12
Reacher Season 4 is not technically a Friday or weekend premiere. Amazon launched the season on Prime Video on Wednesday, August 12, with its first three episodes. New episodes are scheduled weekly through September 16, 2026.
That release pattern still makes Reacher one of the weekend’s most important viewing options. New viewers can use the weekend to start the season with three episodes, while returning fans can catch up before the next weekly installment. Amazon says the season is available in more than 240 countries and territories, although individual availability and release times can vary.
No comparable Prime Video U.S. film premiere for August 14–16 was confirmed by the official Amazon results available for this guide. A third-party roundup mentions a possible August 14 movie arrival, but its title and U.S. availability should not be treated as confirmed without a direct Prime Video or Amazon MGM listing. For a reliable Prime Video recommendation, use Reacher Season 4 rather than an unverified movie claim.
Apple TV+ and Apple TV: live baseball, continuing series, and no confirmed August 14 scripted premiere
Friday Night Baseball — Friday, August 14
Apple’s confirmed August 14 live-programming option is a Friday Night Baseball doubleheader featuring the St. Louis Cardinals versus the Chicago Cubs. This belongs under Apple TV’s live sports offering, not as a new Apple TV+ scripted original.

Shows that remain worth watching
Ted Lasso Season 4 began on August 5 and remains an active weekend recommendation, but it is not a new August 14 premiere. Apple’s 2026 originals information also lists Women in Blue Season 2 as beginning August 12. Both are better described as continuing or recently launched options.

Dark Matter Season 2 is listed for August 28, so it is not part of this weekend’s new-release slate. Apple had not confirmed a major new scripted Apple TV+ premiere specifically for August 14 at the time of this schedule check.

Family and nostalgia
Watch Camp Rock 3 on Disney+. Its returning Connect 3 setup and competition for a touring opportunity make it the obvious choice for family viewing and fans of the earlier franchise.
New, lighter viewing
Start with Don’t Say Good Luck on Netflix, then consider Moria or Busboys. The release calendar establishes these as new weekend choices, but viewers should check the final in-app descriptions for the most accurate synopsis and genre labeling, particularly for Moria and Busboys.
Thriller and horror-leaning genre viewing
Choose the X-Files Director’s Cut on Hulu. The restored-material and R-rated version gives it a distinct reason to watch even if you already know the 2008 film. Violent Ends, also added to Hulu on Friday, is another option for viewers browsing darker catalog additions.

Action
Watch Reacher Season 4 on Prime Video. It is the weekend’s principal action binge, with three episodes available from the Wednesday launch and more arriving weekly.
Sports and documentary viewing
Try E60: Fistful of Steel: The Rise of Bubba Wallace, Tim Richmond: To the Limit, or Venus vs. on Disney+. For live viewing, Apple’s Cardinals–Cubs Friday Night Baseball doubleheader and Netflix’s August 13 Field of Dreams game provide alternatives to on-demand programming.
Optional equipment for a weekend spread across several services
If you are switching between Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, and Apple TV on an older television, a dedicated streaming media player can simplify access to multiple apps. Amazon identifies the Fire TV Stick 4K Max as a streaming device with Wi-Fi 6 and an Alexa Voice Remote. It is an optional convenience, not a requirement for any one title or service, and compatibility should be checked against your television and home network before buying.
What is not technically a weekend premiere?
Keeping the dates straight prevents the most common mistake in weekend streaming guides:
Recommended Free Tools
- Reacher Season 4: premiered Wednesday, August 12, with three episodes; it is a major weekend catch-up and continuing weekly release.
- Ted Lasso Season 4: began August 5 and continues to be available, but did not premiere this weekend.
- Tires Season 3: arrives Thursday, August 13, making it a Thursday-to-weekend binge rather than a Friday premiere.
- MLB at Field of Dreams Game: also listed for August 13, so it is a pre-weekend live-event option.
- Women in Blue Season 2: began August 12 on Apple’s 2026 schedule and is not a new August 14 launch.
- Dark Matter Season 2: is scheduled for August 28, not this weekend.
Before you press play
- Confirm the title in the U.S. version of the service, especially for Moria and Umthetho.
- Check whether you want a true August 14–16 premiere or an earlier release that remains one of the weekend’s best options.
- For Hulu’s X-Files listings, select the Director’s Cut if you specifically want the new R-rated version with restored material.
- For Reacher, expect a weekly schedule rather than a full-season drop.
- Recheck the services close to August 14 because streaming platforms can change dates, episode counts, territories, and title metadata near launch.
