Then the details stop adding up. The trailer shows guests giving up their phones, a knife vanishing and reappearing behind a bathroom mirror, and Frida beginning to doubt what she is seeing. The setup is clear; the reason the island feels wrong is the mystery.
What happens in the Blink Twice trailer?
Frida (Naomi Ackie) meets tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) at his fundraising gala. He invites her to join him and his friends on his private island. The trip initially looks like an effortless, luxurious escape, but unsettling incidents shift the mood from carefree to suspicious.

One revealing detail is that guests put their cellphones in a bag. Later, a knife goes missing and then slips out from behind a bathroom mirror. Those moments make the island feel less like a holiday and more like a place where ordinary rules—and Frida’s confidence in her own perceptions—may not hold.
Why does Frida start questioning reality?
The official synopsis describes Frida as realizing that “There is something wrong with this place.” The trailer’s tension comes from the gap between the island’s polished appearance and the strange events Frida encounters. The phone collection and the knife are clues that something is amiss, but they do not, on their own, explain exactly what is happening or establish the full plot mechanism.

In other words, the surface story is an invitation to a private-island getaway; the central question is why the setting—and Frida’s experience of it—becomes so unsettling. The trailer is designed to raise that question rather than settle it.
Who made Blink Twice, and who is in the cast?
Zoë Kravitz directed the psychological thriller and co-wrote it with E.T. Feigenbaum. Alongside Ackie and Tatum, the ensemble includes Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan, and Geena Davis. Amazon MGM Studios’ official trailer listing identifies Kravitz as director and Ackie and Tatum as stars; the official film page describes it as a psychological thriller and lists the cast.

Why was the film originally called Pussy Island?
The project was first titled Pussy Island. In a July 15, 2024 report, ABC News said Kravitz discussed both audience reactions and practical marketing difficulties in changing the title. She said, “Women were offended by the word, and women seeing the title were saying, ‘I don’t want to see that movie.’” She also described reluctance to put the original title on promotional materials such as posters, billboards, kiosks, and tickets. The change was not attributed to just one factor; Kravitz said the original title’s essence remained in the film.
