In July 2024, Whataburger launched “Breakfast in Bedwars,” its first branded Fortnite map, alongside a short tournament with an advertised $25,000 prize pool. The map is a custom island built around Bedwars-style play, and the tournament was a clip-based qualifier open only to U.S. residents, ending in a July 22, 2024 final. Both were 2024 activations. The announcement describes them in the past tense and does not establish whether the island is still playable today.
What Whataburger launched
The activation had two parts: an open custom island that any player could visit with a code, and a selective tournament with its own entry rules. Whataburger announced the project on July 8, 2024, under the name “Breakfast in Bedwars.” It credited efuse, erena, Click Media Group, and McGarrah Jessee as collaborators. The company also stated that the activation was not affiliated with Epic Games, so this was a brand activation inside Fortnite rather than a partnership with the game’s publisher.
How to find the island as launched in 2024
The announcement gave players the following steps to locate the map:
- Launch Fortnite.
- Select the search icon.
- Enter island code 6619-8313-5969.
These are the instructions published at launch. Because the source is dated 2024, read them as a record of how the island was offered then, not as a confirmation that the code still opens the map.

How the match works
The island combines Fortnite building and combat with Bedwars rules. Four teams of three players each defend their own bed while attacking the bases of opponents. Whataburger’s branding runs through the island’s items and locations. The announcement describes:
- Custom beds and restaurant-style island bases, which are the objectives each team defends.
- WhataGuy, a non-player character placed on the island.
- Breakfast on a Bun, which functions as a health-point item.
- Hot coffee, which functions as a shield.
- Spicy ketchup, which functions as a speed boost.
- Iced coffee, taquitos, and breakfast burgers, listed among the other consumables and power-ups.
- Table tent vault keys and other map interactions that grant boosts.
The announcement lists these as design features. It does not publish balance numbers, such as health or shield values, so the exact in-game effect of each item is not established by the source.
