Coles’ Harry Potter collectibles were called Magical Builders: a 2022 promotion offering a free cardboard character with qualifying purchases, alongside buildable Wizarding World settings and a collector case. The offer began on 6 July 2022 and is no longer current.
How the Coles Magical Builders promotion worked
Coles announced Magical Builders with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on 28 June 2022. From Wednesday 6 July, shoppers were to receive one character for every $30 spent in a single transaction at Coles supermarkets, Coles Online or Coles Express, according to Coles’ announcement.
The qualifying amount applied to one transaction; the announcement did not describe it as a cumulative spend across separate purchases. The release presented the offer as a way to collect characters, not as a current or ongoing Coles benefit.
What was in the Magical Builders range?
Characters and special editions
Coles said the collection included more than 30 characters, with five special editions. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley were among the named characters. The announcement also described a Hogwarts Trunk Collector Case as capable of holding all 35 characters.

Four buildable settings
Separate play kits let customers pop out and assemble cardboard pieces depicting four settings: Hogwarts Castle, a Quidditch pitch, Platform 9¾ and the Hogwarts Express. Coles listed play-kit prices between $9.75 and $15 in its June 2022 announcement; those are historical prices, not current availability or pricing.
What Coles said about the materials
Coles described the characters as made from 100% FSC-certified cardboard and said they could be recycled in household recycling bins. It also characterised the range and kits as plastic-free and recyclable. Forest Stewardship Council CEO Damian Paull described the materials as responsibly sourced FSC-certified materials in the same announcement.

Magical Builders is not Magical Discs
Coles later ran a separate Harry Potter promotion called Magical Discs. According to the Magical Discs FAQ, that campaign ran from 22 January through 11 March 2025, or while stocks lasted. It involved character discs distributed in blind packs, not the cardboard Magical Builders characters and settings.

The original Coles announcement establishes the promotion’s 2022 terms, but does not establish current stock or resale availability. It should not be mistaken for a live Coles offer. Hasbro announced in February 2026 that a new global Harry Potter toy-licensing partnership would begin in 2027, but that announcement does not confirm that specific Magical Builders items—or any particular product—are currently for sale.
