A December 6, 2014 schedule reminder released by House Oversight Democrats reads: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)” It records a possible trip, not a confirmed visit. The question in parentheses leaves the trip’s status unresolved.
What the 2014 schedule entry says
The entry appears under Saturday, December 6, 2014, in a schedule from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. Its wording is: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)” House Oversight Democrats described it as evidence of a “pending trip”; the schedule itself does not say that Musk arrived or confirm that the trip took place.

The parenthetical question matters. A reminder can show that a proposed or scheduled event was being tracked, but “is this still happening?” signals uncertainty rather than confirmation. The entry is not a travel itinerary, arrival record, or account of attendance.
Who released the record, and what else was in the production?
On September 26, 2025, Democrats on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released partial records from a third batch produced by Epstein’s estate. The batch included daily schedules and other materials. The committee said it had received 8,544 responsive documents and that review and production were continuing; that figure does not mean all the documents were newly public or concerned Musk. The committee characterized the Musk entry as a pending trip, not a verified visit.

What Musk and Maxwell have said, according to reporting
Futurism reports that Musk denied visiting Epstein’s island. It also reports that Musk acknowledged visiting Epstein’s New York home and described a photograph with Ghislaine Maxwell as a photobomb. These are reported statements, distinct from what the schedule establishes. Futurism’s account of the schedule and Musk’s response does not turn the reminder into proof of travel.
Futurism also quotes Musk from a 2019 Vanity Fair article: “Epstein is obviously a creep. He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island. I declined.” That quotation is Musk’s account of his interactions, not independent confirmation of what happened on December 6, 2014. Futurism reports that Maxwell made a contrary claim in a 2025 interview. The cited schedule does not resolve the difference between those accounts.

What the evidence does—and does not—establish
- Established by the schedule: A December 6, 2014 reminder names Musk in connection with an island trip.
- Uncertain in the schedule: The question “is this still happening?” indicates that the trip’s status was not settled in that entry.
- Not established by this record: Whether Musk traveled to the island, whether the proposed trip occurred, or what he knew about Epstein’s conduct.
The careful conclusion is that the schedule links Musk to a possible trip under consideration. It does not prove that he visited Epstein’s island, and the appearance of his name in the reminder alone does not establish wrongdoing.
