On February 13, 2025, the day after Teddi Mellencamp’s brain surgery, her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, said the operation had gone well. He also described her as being in considerable pain and resting. His update addressed the immediate aftermath of surgery, not her full prognosis.
What did Edwin Arroyave say after Teddi Mellencamp’s surgery?
Arroyave posted the update to his Instagram Story on February 13, 2025. Bravo reported that he wrote: “So many people asking for updates. All I will say right now is surgery went well.” The outlet also reported that Mellencamp was in considerable pain and getting needed rest. Bravo’s report covers the message and her immediate postoperative condition.
Why did Mellencamp have brain surgery?
ABC News reported on February 12, 2025, that Mellencamp had said doctors found multiple tumors on her brain after she experienced severe headaches. She was scheduled to undergo surgery. ABC News’ account describes the announcement and the circumstances leading to the operation.
What the update does—and does not—establish
“Surgery went well” was an account of the operation from Arroyave, as reported by Bravo. The same report described pain and rest during early recovery. Those details do not amount to a complete medical prognosis or establish Mellencamp’s current condition. The February 2025 update should be read as a snapshot of the immediate postoperative period, not a statement about her health today.

How their separation fits the story
Mellencamp had filed for divorce in November 2024, according to later Bravo coverage. After her surgery, she described the divorce as “on hold” and expressed gratitude for Arroyave’s help during her recovery. The pause in proceedings and his support during an illness do not establish that the couple reconciled. Bravo’s later coverage reports on the divorce context.
In January 2026, Bravo reported that Arroyave discussed supporting Mellencamp during her stage 4 cancer treatment on his podcast, The Eds, while the marital split continued. That later account is separate from his February 2025 post-surgery message. Bravo’s January 2026 report covers his comments.
