What the report says about the setting
The incident was reported at Lord of the Fries in Northbridge, Perth. Peterson said she had been eating a vegan burger. PerthNow reported that she posted CCTV video from the restaurant alongside an Instagram statement; the article’s description does not establish what the footage showed beyond that it was restaurant CCTV.

Peterson’s response
In the Instagram statement described by PerthNow, Peterson rejected comparisons between her animal-rights protests and being assaulted, and condemned violence. The article quoted her writing, “Let’s stop justifying violence against me or anyone else.” It also relayed her remark to news.com.au: “We were just in a state of shock that night.”
