Robert Kirkman’s Season 4 update came before the premiere: in a November 28, 2025 interview, he described it as Invincible’s most intense season yet, with Mark’s problems growing steadily larger. Season 4 has since premiered and finished releasing; as of October 8, 2026, all episodes are streaming on Prime Video.
What Robert Kirkman said about Season 4
In a pre-release interview published by TV Insider on November 28, 2025, Kirkman said the creative team was “really putting Mark through his paces.” He described the character’s problems as “getting bigger and bigger and bigger,” placing Mark in the position of asking how he will get through the next challenge. Kirkman, the series’ creator and co-showrunner, called it “the most intense season yet.”

The update was about the season’s escalating pressure on Mark, not a new production announcement. At the time, Season 4 was scheduled for March 2026.
Season 4 is out now
The planned launch date became a past event: Image Comics announced a March 18, 2026 premiere, and Amazon’s guide, updated July 1, 2026, says all episodes are streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Amazon identifies Prime Video as the exclusive home for all four seasons and says the series is available in more than 240 countries and territories. What Kirkman said about the season’s ending
In an April 22, 2026 post-finale interview with TheWrap, Kirkman explained a structural change: “So we changed it up in Season 4 by having no finale.” He was referring to the choice to follow Season 3’s pair of climactic episodes with a quieter epilogue episode—not to the absence of a final episode or a completed season.
What comes after Season 4
Amazon says Seasons 5 and 6 have been announced. Skybound’s June 24, 2026 announcement says Season 5 is slated for 2027, with further details to come later. In that announcement, Kirkman said, “There’s still so much story left to tell, and I can’t wait for fans to see what’s ahead in seasons 5, 6 and beyond.”

Skybound also reported in 2026 that Season 4 was the series’ most-watched season to date. That is a comparative statement; the company’s announcement did not provide underlying audience totals or a detailed methodology.
