Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley began dating in 2017, had a turbulent on-and-off relationship that became public through social media and Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, and split in 2019. They share a daughter, Ariana. Their history included accusations, arrests and court proceedings, but those events had different outcomes: an arrest or allegation is not proof of every claim made.
How the relationship unfolded
2017: They begin dating
Us Weekly dates the start of Ortiz-Magro and Harley’s relationship to July 2017. They later became parents to daughter Ariana. The relationship ended in 2019, though reporting described an ongoing coparenting relationship after the breakup. Us Weekly’s relationship timeline is the source for the chronology.
2018: Public arguments and separate incidents
Their relationship became a recurring subject of social-media disputes and reality-TV coverage, including arguments that followed episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Us Weekly reported an altercation while the cast was filming in Las Vegas in June. Its timeline says police determined that a battery had not taken place in one incident; in a separate case, the Clark County district attorney’s office later declined to proceed against Harley, citing insufficient evidence. In October, Ortiz-Magro posted a photograph showing a black eye and implied Harley was responsible. The post documents his implication, not independent proof of what happened.
2019: Reports, an arrest and a breakup
Us Weekly reported that Ortiz-Magro filed a battery report in January 2019 and that Harley was arrested in May on an allegation of domestic battery. The outlet said prosecutors dropped the charges against Harley in July. An arrest and an accusation should not be mistaken for a finding of guilt.

In October, Ortiz-Magro was arrested after an incident reported to involve Harley. Initial coverage described a kidnapping arrest; later reporting described a misdemeanor case involving counts that included domestic violence, child endangerment, weapon-related allegations, threats, false imprisonment and resisting arrest. He pleaded not guilty in November. These were charges, not findings on every count. Us Weekly’s timeline summarizes the reported events.
What happened in the legal cases?
Harley’s 2019 case
Us Weekly reported that prosecutors dropped Harley’s charges in July 2019. That outcome is distinct from the earlier arrest and allegation; it does not establish that every public account of the relationship was true or false.

Ortiz-Magro’s October 2019 case
Accounts of the resolution differ in procedural detail and timing. Us Weekly reported that Ortiz-Magro received 36 months of probation, was ordered to pay $20,000 to a women’s shelter, and had to complete a 52-week domestic-violence class. UPI’s April 2021 report described a later no-contest plea to one domestic-battery count and one resisting-arrest count, along with 30 days of community service, the same probation term and the same donation. Those reports do not support saying that every count initially reported resulted in a conviction. UPI’s April 24, 2021 report gives the plea-related account.
The January 2020 protection-order dispute
Entertainment Tonight reported that Ortiz-Magro received an emergency protection order against Harley. His attorneys alleged that she entered his home and assaulted him. Harley’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, said contact by Ortiz-Magro had violated an order against him, disputed whether an order against Harley had been served, and said Harley wanted to raise their daughter in peace. These were competing statements by lawyers, not adjudicated findings. Entertainment Tonight’s January 16, 2020 report recounts the dispute.

Separate 2021 arrests
Us Weekly reported separate arrests involving Ortiz-Magro and Harley in 2021. Its timeline says Harley was not involved in Ortiz-Magro’s April arrest and reports that Harley was arrested and charged in June. These are media reports rather than primary court records, so they establish what outlets reported, not a complete legal record or the parties’ current circumstances.
