Harry also described making the trip to see Charles: “I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could,” and “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go see and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.” He said he hoped to see his family as much as he could on future UK visits; that was his stated intention at the time, not confirmation of a later visit.

The pre-recorded interview with Will Reeve aired on Good Morning America on Friday, February 16, 2024. ITV described it as Harry’s first interview since the diagnosis became public. Its topics also included his family life and the Invictus Games.

Did Harry visit King Charles?
Yes. After speaking with his father, Harry traveled from the United States to the UK and met Charles at Clarence House on February 6, 2024. ITV reported that the meeting lasted about 45 minutes. The same report said Harry and Prince William had “no plans” to meet during the visit; that was ITV’s reporting, not a Palace announcement.
What did Harry disclose about Charles’ health?
Harry did not share the cancer type, prognosis, or treatment details. Asked about his father’s medical information, he said “that stays between me and him,” as TIME reported.
Buckingham Palace announced on February 5, 2024 that diagnostic tests had identified a form of cancer in the King. The announcement followed treatment for benign prostate enlargement, but the cited account did not name the cancer type. ITV’s report on the announcement likewise described it as a form of cancer.
